Full Sak Yant Ceremony

at Thai Tattoo Café

At Thai Tattoo Café, we offer the complete traditional Sak Yant ceremony to honor both the Master and the rich cultural heritage behind these sacred tattoos.

To pay proper respect, every guest receiving an authentic Sak Yant is required to participate in the ceremony. This is not only a tradition—it’s an essential part of receiving the blessing and spiritual protection that the Sak Yant offers.

Before your appointment, please prepare an offering (Parn Kru) and follow the steps below. These offerings are a symbol of gratitude and respect for the Master and the sacred art of Sak Yant.

Parn Kru – Sak Yant Offering

Before receiving your Sak Yant at Thai Tattoo Café, you’ll take part in a Parn Kru, or offering, to show respect to the Master and the sacred tradition.

Each Sak Yant master has different preferences for offerings. Our masters accept:

  • Thai rum

  • Cigarettes

  • Fresh flowers

  • Candles

  • Incense

  • Money

These items symbolize respect, gratitude, and the exchange of positive energy between you and the Master. Preparing your Parn Kru is an important step in honoring the Sak Yant culture and ensuring your blessing is given in the most authentic way.

Giving Your Sak Yant Offering

The first step in the Sak Yant ceremony is presenting your offering to the Master. This important act shows that you are ready to become a disciple, willing to follow the Sak Yant rules, and open to receiving the blessing’s power.

It’s also a deep sign of respect toward both the Master and the centuries-old Sak Yant tradition.

To present your offering:

  1. Kneel facing the Sak Yant Master.

  2. Hold the offering pan with both hands.

  3. Pass it to the Master while keeping your gaze lowered.

Once you present the offering, the Master will perform the first blessing, marking the true beginning of your authentic Sak Yant experience.

During the Sak Yant Tattoo

While receiving your Sak Yant tattoo, it’s important to remain as still as possible. Steadiness allows the Master to work with precision and ensures the sacred design is applied perfectly.

Focus on your breathing—slow, deep, and steady—as if you were meditating. This will help you stay calm and present throughout the process.

If at any point you need a short break, politely let the Master know. Respect for the process and the Master’s work is key to a true authentic Sak Yant experience.

Seak Kha Tha: Activating sak yant tattoo

Final Blessing of Your Sak Yant Tattoo. Once your Sak Yant tattoo is complete, the Master will perform a powerful blessing to activate its magic. This sacred ritual begins with the Master casting protective magic while applying holy oil over your tattoo. Gold leaf is then placed on the design, symbolizing the fifth element—gold—within your body. In Thai belief, gold represents good luck, wealth, and an abundance of money. During this blessing, place your hands together in prayer, close your eyes, and focus on the Master’s voice.

Prom Nammon – Sprinkling Holy Water

The Master will sprinkle holy water to cleanse away bad luck and negative energy. Kneeling in front of the Master shows respect. Keep your hands in prayer position, close your eyes, clear your mind, and bow your head slightly.

Krob Kru – Becoming a Disciple

In some cases, the Sak Yant Master may choose to accept you as a disciple. This is done by placing a Ruhsi mask on your head, signifying that you are now under his protection and guidance. From this moment, you are considered part of his extended family—brothers and sisters alongside his other disciples—wherever you are in the world.
