Grandmaster Ajarn Pum

Grandmaster Ajarn Pum is one of the top Sak Yant masters in Thailand, with over 20 years of experience. Ajarn Pum is a kind spirit yet the best at what he does. Thai Tattoo Café has been working with him since 2012 and we have a very good friendship. He is a very kind person, royalness, honest, supportive, and the very best advisor. Over 10 years of working with him, I have never seen him in a bad mood. He is always smiling and happy even if he is very tired or sick. Anything I ask for help and advice he has never said no to me

Ajarn Pum was born in 1971 in Bangkok, Thailand. He started learning and practicing performing the Sak Yant tattoo with his Father several years before he became a monk. He decided to follow his passion for Sak Yant by becoming a monk in 1997. He has been traveling around Thailand to learn Sak Yant art from many Sak Yant masters in Thailand over 70 masters. Don't mention his Father who started teaching him this art when he was just a boy and expected him to inherit Sak Yant art as a family legacy. Start off with Ajarn Pheud Bang Prakok Sai Nueng temple his very first grandmaster (an old monk), Loung Phoo Dum (an old monk), Ajarn Nueud, Ajarn Boonmak, Ajarn Boonma, Ajarn Harn, Ajarn Niyom, Loung Phor Sungvien Nakhonnayok (an old monk, Loung Phor Paew (an old monk), Loung Phor Nang (an old monk), Ajarn Ngoh.

After 5 years of traveling and learning has come to an end, there is nothing he could learn and no one to teach him anymore, finally! he became a Sak Yant master himself in 2002. Since then he has been performing Sak Yant tattoos in Wat Saladaeng temple for Thai people and foreigners around the world.

Sadly he has to finish a monk life in 2018 due to his Mother being old and needing him to take care of her. And due to the government order does not allow a monk to tattoo anymore because tattooing is not a monk's duty. I used to ask him many times about leaving a monk and having a normal life. He said “I have been a monk too long, I can’t imagine what I will be like to have a normal life like everyone else and I have never thought about leaving a monk life” But a good son's duty and his passion for tattooing is more important than anything else.

Ajarn Pum nowadays still performs Sak Yant tattoos in his place as a Grandmaster of Sak Yant tattoos. Ajarn Pum is also serving other traditional art such as a fortune teller, a Golden magic needle, a Yantra mantra candle and etc.

He is very kind to us to turn to work at our tattoo house sometimes when customers requested. we need an extra master to work at busy times.

Please be inform that Ajarn Pum is not working full time with Thai Tattoo Café. His service fee for tattooing and ceremony is up to him and we have no control for what is he charging.
